About Shilstone

Shilstone is a family-run estate that has been lovingly restored and recreated over the last 25 years.  Since then the house and the surrounding buildings and walls have been virtually rebuilt by our incredibly talented team of local craftsmen.  Today Shilstone has become a hive of activity with the new addition of garden and woods openings, house tours, café, restaurant and archive.

Gardens and Walks

The gardens include the terrace garden, walled garden, kitchen garden, orchard, formal south and west gardens.  The terraced garden has paths meandering through the wild flowers with breath taking views over the garden and valley below. There are walks down the valley and around the ponds, as well as through the woods, festooned with bluebells in the spring.
