Shilstone House
Shilstone House is a luxury, established wedding venue near Modbury in South Devon, approximately 25 minutes from Plymouth, 20 minutes from Kingsbridge, and 15 minutes from Ivybridge and Totnes. Set within a beautiful countryside estate, we host elegant and exclusive weddings throughout our peak season.
Our wedding season runs from April to October. We typically host two weddings per week, including both weekday and weekend events, with this increasing during the busy summer months.
We are looking for enthusiastic and professional Event Front of House Staff to join our weddings team. This role requires a high standard of service and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Previous waiting experience is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional and attentive table service during weddings and events
- Assist with event setup and breakdown
- Serve food and beverages efficiently and confidently
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of event spaces
- Deliver exceptional guest service throughout the event
- Work closely with the bar and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service

Additional Information
- Typical shift: 12:00pm – 7:30/8:00pm
- 7–24 hours per week
- Shifts allocated via rota, shared one month in advance (weekly variation expected)
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday availability required
- Weekend availability essential
- Self-employed position
- Own transport essential – Shilstone is not on any bus routes
