Shilstone House is a country estate in South Devon. Located in the courtyard, offering a seasonal menu led by what’s available from the gardens and local growers.
The Role
We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic Waiting Staff to join our Café team. You will be the first point of contact for our customers, delivering great service and helping create a welcoming atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take food and drink orders
- Operate the till and handle payments accurately
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally
- Keep the front-of-house area clean, tidy, and well-stocked
- Assist with clearing tables and resetting for new guests
- Answer customer questions and handle requests or complaints politely
- Support the team during busy periods and help with general duties
Skills & Experience:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Friendly, positive attitude and team player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic maths skills for handling cash and card payments
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Previous café, hospitality, or retail experience is a plus
Additional Information:
- Your own transport is essential as we are not on any public transport routes
Pay & Benefits:
- 20-30 hours per week – Wednesday – Sunday
- Up to £12.75 per hour (dependant on age and experience) with tips
- 50% off in the Café and Restaurant for you and a guest
