We host all sorts of gatherings across the estate, from birthdays, anniversaries and family celebrations to private lunches and dinners, drinks parties, business events and larger occasions. Our different spaces can be used on their own or together, with food and drink from our kitchens and plenty of the estate to explore while you are here.

Christmas Parties
Gather at Shilstone this Christmas for festive lunches, dinners and parties across the estate. From smaller celebrations in the Café to Christmas dinners in the Barn and larger parties in the Marquee, our spaces can accommodate groups of all sizes.
Seasonal menus, drinks and everything you need for the evening can be arranged by our team, whether you are bringing together family and friends or planning a Christmas party for your business.

The Barn
Capacity: 100 Seated, 150 Standing
The Barn can comfortably seat up to 84 guests or host 100 for a standing reception. With exposed oak beams, a built-in bar and plenty of room for dancing, it is a characterful setting for dinners, parties and celebrations.
The House
Capacity: 24 Seated, 100 Standing
At the heart of the estate, the House can seat up to 24 guests for an intimate lunch or dinner, or welcome up to 100 for drinks and a standing reception. The rooms open onto the terrace and West Garden, making it easy for gatherings to move between the House and gardens.
The Marquee
Capacity: 220 Seated, 300 Standing
Set within the Walled Garden, the Marquee is our largest event space, seating up to 220 guests or hosting 300 standing. With views into the garden, a built-in bar and plenty of space for dining and dancing, it is well suited to larger parties and celebrations.
The Greenhouse
Capacity: 42 Seated, 50 Standing
Tucked away above the pool, the Greenhouse can seat up to 42 guests or host 50 standing. Surrounded by the fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers grown on the estate, it is a lovely setting for private lunches, dinners and drinks.
The Pool
Capacity: 42 Seated, 100 Standing
Hidden within the gardens with views across the valley, the Pool can seat up to 42 guests or host 100 standing. With the pool, lawn and surrounding gardens to enjoy, it makes a wonderful setting for summer lunches, drinks and parties.
The Cartshed
Capacity: 20 Seated
Set within the old stone courtyard beside the Courtyard, the Cart Shed can seat up to 20 guests. An informal, open-sided space, it is particularly suited to smaller lunches and afternoon tea.
The Gardens

The gardens provide a wonderful setting for gatherings throughout the warmer months. From summer parties on the lawns and afternoon tea picnics amongst the gardens to long, wood-fired dinners outside, there are plenty of ways to gather and enjoy the estate in the open air.
Eat and Drink
From a long lunch around one table to a larger dinner, sharing feast or food cooked over fire, we can put together a menu to suit the occasion and time of year. Drinks can be served throughout the estate, from cocktails on the lawn to drinks in the courtyard and wine around the table.
The Estate
The estate gives plenty of room to spend time outside. Drinks can be served in the gardens, lunches laid out on the lawn, games played in the grounds and walks enjoyed before or after a meal.
Business & Brand Events
Shilstone is a family run estate that has been lovingly restored and recreated over the last 25 years. Since then the house and the surrounding buildings and walls have been virtually rebuilt by our incredibly talented team of local craftsmen.
Activities
Guests can explore the gardens and walks, play croquet and lawn games, swim at the pool, or take part in clay pigeon shooting. We can also arrange activities for private and business groups, depending on the time of year and the occasion.
Stay
Our cottages and converted barns are set amongst the gardens and countryside, providing accommodation for private events, family gatherings and business stays.
