Shilstone offers a wedding day journey from the East to the West of our entirely exclusive Estate. Experiencing our charming, rustic Great Barn, lovingly restored Georgian Manor House, and unique Walled Garden, home to our Mughal Marquee.

CAN WE HAVE A CIVIL CEREMONY?

Yes, we are fully licensed, and can accommodate 134 guests in the Great Barn or outside our Manor House, on our East Garden.

DO YOU OFFER OUTDOOR CEREMONIES?

Yes, as well as our Great Barn, we are also licensed to hold ceremonies in front of the Manor House. You are free to decide on the location for your ceremony on the morning of the wedding.

CAN WE HAVE A CHURCH WEDDING?

Yes, there are plenty of churches local to Shilstone. If you choose to marry in a Church, we invite you to use Shilstone for your reception, wedding breakfast and evening party.

WHAT IS YOUR DINING CAPACITY?

The Mughal Marquee, where we host the wedding breakfast, can accommodate up to 220 people with round tables and 150 with rectangular tables.

DO YOU HAVE MINIMUM NUMBERS?

2024:

Wednesdays – 50, Fridays – 65,  Saturdays – 75

2025 and beyond:

Wednesdays – 55, Fridays – 70, Saturdays  – 80

WHAT IS YOUR CLOSING TIME?

We have a midnight finish, however, this can be extended to 1am.

CAN WE INVITE ADDITIONAL EVENING GUESTS?

Yes, we can accommodate a total of 300 guests for the evening party.

DO YOU HAVE ONSITE ACCOMMODATION?

Yes, we have two purpose-built barns that sleep a total of 36 people. Please see the Shilstone Accommodation page for more information. We also have a comprehensive list of recommended accommodation near Shilstone.

CAN I GET READY AT SHILSTONE

Of course, depending on the day of the week you are getting married will determine which of our accommodation barns is available, but in any case, you are guaranteed a getting-ready suite.

CAN WE BRING OUR OWN FLOWERS AND DECORATIONS?

Shilstone is yours for the day and you can decorate it as you wish. We have our own decorations to get you started and a list of trusted local suppliers in our Wedding Directory.

CAN WE USE OUR OWN CATERERS?

At Shilstone we think that the food is a key element of any special occasion and we are passionate about delivering all our events to an extremely high standard, so we take care of all food and drink in-house. Our excellent team of in-house chefs have created a wide range of menus with the highest quality, locally sourced ingredients.

To accompany your food, you can choose from a range of excellent wine, champagne, beer, and spirits.

DO YOU HAVE A WEDDING PLANNING SERVICE?

Working with you to plan and organise is a key part of what we do at Shilstone. We will support you throughout the planning process and will be there on the day to make sure everything goes smoothly and you don’t need to think about anything. Our previous couples have often said as soon as they arrived at Shilstone, they immediately felt relaxed.

WHAT ARE YOUR TERMS OF PAYMENT?

To secure your wedding at Shilstone, we require a £2,000 + VAT deposit. Twelve months before your wedding we ask for the balance of venue hire. Then a final payment, for the remaining balance six weeks before your wedding.

IS THE MARQUEE WARM?

Our marquee is fitted with an advanced air heating system that can be turned on at your request.

CAN WE CHANGE DETAILS AFTER WE HAVE AGREED THE QUOTE AND BOOKED OUR DATE?

Yes, of course. Whether you pick up the phone or send an email to our wedding coordinator Hollie, we will always be on hand to make any changes you request or talk through any options. We are on hand right up until the day to help with anything you would like or need. Changes can be made right up until six weeks before your wedding.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS A POWER CUT?

At Shilstone we have a diesel powered generator, so if the power goes down, the party will continue!

WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS FOR MUSIC?

For the ceremony and drinks reception, we have an on-site PA system that you are welcome to plug in your own iPod, or similar, playlist. Alternatively, you are also welcome to have live music.

In the marquee, we have a Zone Array system to prevent noise pollution. We ask that all music is played through this. DJs or bands can plug straight into our system and won’t need to bring their own speakers.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY EVENT IS CANCELLED?

On rare occasions a client will need to cancel their event. We recommend that you get wedding insurance in case of unforeseeable circumstances.
